“The group of Turinese artists, independently resolving new problems, brought life to the second wave of Futurism, a movement in which Ugo Pozzo took on a prominent role. The theoretical applications of Futurism were filtered through the peculiar notion that the movement was based on. As a result of a contemplative and ironic approach, these applications led to a more intimate vision that looked at the world on a larger scale, not just from a mechanical viewpoint. The concision and dynamism of expression and the compositional precision that Pozzo's plastic studies yielded were always conveyed with extreme equilibrium. Above all, his works tended to involve the observer in the creative act. The architectural allusions, anatomy of his nudes, body shapes and face profiles depicted in his paintings were harmonized and fused a balance between space and size. This ingenious artist has undoubtedly been one of the best interpreters of Futurist poetics.”
