“In those years Ugo Pozzo appeared on the front line. More than anyone else, he had a friendship with Fillia, the most dynamic and prepared inspiration of the group. Notwithstanding the excitement, innovations and creation of the new and astonishing works surrounding the prominent figures of the second wave of Futurism, as time went on a bitter indifference formed, isolating these very figures in a discouraging torpor for more than twenty years. Some highly qualified critics, from Farfa to Fillia and Mino Rosso among others, started the revival of many of these figures, following the sensational valorisation of Boccioni, Balla, Russolo, Ciacelli and Depero. However, in my opinion, Ugo Pozzo is the one person who still has a correct valorisation of the importance of his work, perhaps because of his proud, timid and reserved nature. He is a truly talented painter, has what it takes and is certainly of historical and artistic importance."
