“The carefully compiled chronological and even ironically contentious exhibition has demonstrated that Pozzo has surpassed all his modern experiences, from personal ones related to his movement, to what we today call informal and abstract. His refinement and chromatic elegance are extremely positive and noteworthy qualities. As a result, he seems to be a "different" Futurist precisely because of the colours, namely blue and red, that he ignores. If we were to take these tones away from Fillia’s paintings, for example, we would completely distort their message. This means that Futurism was something other than a single technical formula, or at least this was so in Turin. The browns, the honeyed colours, the glazing and, all in all, Ugo Pozzo’s refined moderation, convey this. His palette contributes to the new pictorial ideal, if it can be called such, and timeless quality painting.”
